Impact Confections Appoints Vice President of Sales

Hanigan comes to candy maker from Mars Inc.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Impact Confections has announced the appointment of Jim Hanigan to the position of vice president of sales. In this role, Hanigan will be responsible for the global sales of the Impact Confections and Melster Candies product lines, including its extreme sour brand, Warheads.

Hanigan had a 20-year career at Mars Inc., most recently as vice president of sales for the Mars Ice Cream Division. Prior to that, Hanigan was the national sales director for the Mars Confectionary division, and has held key sales positions with Mars Petfood and Uncle Ben's [image-nocss] Food divisions.

"I am extremely excited about joining Impact Confections, and I look forward to growing and enhancing the strong portfolio of brands," said Hanigan.

Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Impact Confections is a major manufacturer of 3-D Lollipops and other interactive candies in the United States for the mass merchants, convenience store, drug store and grocery store channels. The company's product portfolio encompasses such leading consumer brands as Warheads, Lollipop Paint Shop and Carousel Pop.

Impact Confections also owns Melster Candies in Cambridge, Wis., where it produces traditional goodies such as Circus Peanuts, Peanut Butter Kisses, Salt Water Taffy, Coconut Toasties, Chocolate Covered Marshmallow and Creme Drops.
