Kellogg Fills Leadership Roles in U.S. Specialty Channels

Promotes women to key roles; again named among Top 50 Cos. for Executive Women

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. -- Kellogg Co. has announced the promotions of four leaders within the U.S. Specialty Channels business.

  • Susan Wasco has been promoted to senior director marketing for snacks for specialty channels. Prior to this, she held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility within specialty channels including roles in innovation, finance and marketing as brand director for the cereal, biscuit and frozen foods businesses.

Wasco currently serves on the board of the United Way of DuPage/West Cook. She is a past Kellogg Co. United Way campaign committee member and a current Women of Kellogg employee resource group member. She has been active in the Women's Foodservice Forum since 2002. In 2014, she was awarded the Women's Foodservice Forum's Women Making Their Mark Award.

  • Sara Day has been promoted to director, customer marketing and communications for specialty channels. She joined the specialty channels contract manufacturing team in 2000. During her 14 years with Kellogg, she has held a number of roles of increasing accountability across product development, operations, innovation and marketing.

Day sits on the board of the Illinois chapter of Action for Healthy Kids; is a member of the Women's Foodservice Forum; and is a member of the Network of Executive Women (NEW). She is also a member of the Women of Kellogg, KPride & Allies, Women of Supply Chain and Young Professionals Kellogg Co. employee resource groups.

  • Amber Jefferson has been promoted to director of human resources for specialty channels. She joined Kellogg in 2012 as the senior human resources business partner supporting the Walmart and western region sales teams.

She began her Kellogg career in 2012 as the senior human resources business partner supporting the Walmart and western region sales teams. Prior to joining Kellogg, she served in a human resource business partnering role with Brinker International where she made many contributions in the area of executive coaching, talent management and organization effectiveness. In addition, she led the acquisition and divestiture strategy design and implementation at Sabre.

  • Kathryn Fenner has been promoted to associate marketing director of snacks for specialty channels. She joined the specialty channels organization in 2003 and has served in roles of increasing accountability during her nearly 12 years with Kellogg Co. These include customer marketing manager; business manager, convenience channel; senior manager, innovation, foodservice, convenience store, drug and dollar channels; associate director, customer marketing, food away from home; and business unit manager, ready to eat cereal, food away from home.

Fenner is a member of the Women's Foodservice Forum and NEW.

Kellogg has again been named among the "Top 50 Companies for Executive Women" by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE).

The company has four women on its board of directors (38%), and eight women holding spots on the company's global leadership team.

This is the second consecutive year Kellogg has been named to the list and the fourth time receiving the recognition since 2009.
