Mars Rolls Out Snickers Crisper

Brand’s first candy bar under 200 calories

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- The Snickers brand has created Snickers Crisper, which includes crisped rice and peanuts topped with a layer of caramel and coated in Snickers milk chocolate.

Snickers Crisper is the first Snickers bar with fewer than 200 calories per serving--a singles pack includes two squares at less than 100 calories each.

“Snickers is all about satisfying hunger, and we’re excited to do that in a new and delicious way with Snickers Crisper,” said Allison Miazga-Bedrick, director for the Snickers Brand.

“Crisper delivers a new snacking option with a combination of textures.”

To help introduce Snickers Crisper, the brand will roll out a fully integrated marketing campaign, including advertising, in-store displays and promotions. New 30-second spots, created by BBDO New York, spotlight how hunger can throw people off their game when multiple symptoms conspire against them. Two ads debuted during the 2016 Golden Globes telecast on NBC on Jan. 10, 2016, with social GIFS and live tweeting. The ads also are posted on the official Snickers YouTube page.

Snickers Crisper is available at convenience stores, drug, grocery and value stores, mass retailers and in vending machines. Suggested retail price 99 cents to $1.09 for a 1.41-oz. Single, $1.69 to $1.79 for a 2.83-oz. 4 to Go and $2.69 to $3.99 for a 10.61-oz. Medium Fun Size Bag.
