Pickle-in-a-Pouch Gets Social

Van Holten launches Facebook, Twitter pages
WATERLOO, Wis. -- Van Holten Pickles, the inventor of the Pickle-in-a-Pouch, launched Facebook and Twitter pages atfacebook.com/PickleinaPouch andtwitter.com/PickleinaPouch for its fans and customers to share their passion for the pickle-in-a-pouch.

"The Facebook and Twitter pages will be fun and fresh resources for customer interaction with Van Holten's," said Jon Florin, marketing manager for the Waterloo, Wis.-based pickle and olive [image-nocss] producer.

Florin said he feels "this will provide an interactive platform for customers to connect with Van Holten's, provide feedback, participate in special events, receive exclusive new-product announcements and stay in touch with their favorite grab-and-go snack food."

Founded in 1898 by Dutch immigrant J.G. Van Holten, Van Holten Pickles began as a vinegar distributor in Milwaukee. It wasn't until I939 that Van Holten's discovered their calling and a market niche for individually wrapped pickles.
