Reese’s Fans Get Outrageous Over New Candy Bar

Brand encouraging fans to share their candy passion via social media

HERSHEY, Pa. -- Reese’s newest candy bar has officially hit shelves, and the brand is promoting it with fan-based initiatives.

The Reese’s Outrageous Bars, available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $1.09 for a regular size, $2.09 for king-size and $3.89 for a 10.5-ounce bag, are made with Reese’s creamy peanut butter, caramel and Reese’s Pieces candy and are coated in milk chocolate.

To celebrate the launch, Reese’s is encouraging fans to share stories of “outrageous Reese’s fandom” on May 18, “I Heart Reese’s Day,” on social media using the hashtags #ReesesOutrageous and #Contest. The winner will receive free products and $10,000, while the first 100 entries get a box of Reese’s Outrageous Bars. The promotion will run until June 1.

“The Reese’s brand has the most passionate and outgoing fans in the world,” said Eric Bowers, brand manager of Reese’s. “To celebrate the launch of Reese’s Outrageous, there is no better way than taking inspiration from our fans. We’re taking our fans’ passion to the next level, not only with this outrageous new product but by re-creating their Reese’s fandom in epic ways.”

Reese’s has supported its fans who’ve made the brand part of their everyday lives. When one fan tweeted about wanting Reese’s Eggs as her wedding cake, the brand delivered it right to her door. When another spent his entire grocery store gift card on Reese’s products and bathed in them, Reese’s created an oasis and swimming pool in his backyard. When one created a custom refrigerator that dispensed Reese’s Miniatures, the brand said it would bring the invention to a local shopping center in Garland, Texas, the fan’s hometown, on May 18.

Reese's is a Hershey brand. Based in Hershey, Pa., Hershey has more than 80 brands that drive more than $7.4 billion in annual revenues, including Hershey's, Reese's, Hershey's Kisses, Jolly Rancher, Ice Breakers and Brookside.
