Reese’s Kicks Off Playoff Pandemonium

Celebrates football postseason with Ref (Jeff) Foxworthy

HERSHEY, Pa. -- The Hershey Co. kicked off its Reese’s Playoff Pandemonium, a campaign designed to help fans enjoy the football playoff season. To make sure football fans understand how to “properly” celebrate and entertain, the brand has created Reese’s Rules, which will be delivered by Ref Foxworthy—the Reese’s Referee.

Reese's Rules Ref Jeff Foxworthy

“This is the best time of year for football fans—playoff time,” said Ref Foxworthy. “To celebrate in the best way possible, football fans need to know the rules. I’m here to help fans win big when entertaining during the playoffs!”

Throughout the course of the football playoff season, Ref Foxworthy will deliver humorous Reese’s Rules via short, witty videos via Reese’s social-media platforms while asking fans to share their own   entertaining rules or images using the #ReesesGameday hashtag. For fans that are looking for that extra winning edge, an in-store SMS text campaign will enable fans to opt-in for additional Reese’s Rules from Ref Foxworthy and a coupon for future Reese’s purchases.

Here are some examples of Ref Foxworthy’s Reese’s Rules:

  • Tackling is permitted when someone grabs the last Reese’s Miniature.
  • Pass interference may be called for not sharing your Reese’s Minis.
  • Always go for two when celebrating with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

“Jeff Foxworthy has entertained millions with his comedy for more than 25 years and is the largest selling comedy-recording artist in history, so we believe that he is the perfect choice to bring some entertainment to an often heated and intense playoff season,” said John Maitrejean Sr., brand manager, Reese’s Franchise. “’Ref Foxworthy, with his quick-witted humor and every-man persona, is sure to lighten the mood and is the perfect choice to be the Reese’s Referee.”

Playoff Pandemonium complements Reese’s existing partnerships in college football, specifically as the official sponsor of the inaugural College Football Playoff and, beginning in fall of 2015, ESPN’s College GameDay. The Reese’s brand is also title sponsor of the Reese’s Senior Bowl, college football’s annual premier senior showcase event, featuring the nation’s best senior collegiate football stars and top draft prospects.
