Sabra Releases New Mediterranean Dip Line

First product launch since company rebranded last month

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Sabra Dipping Co. has launched a new line of Mediterranean Bean Dips, which will be available at retailers nationwide this month. The dips come in three flavors: White Bean With Spinach & Roasted Garlic, Red Bean With Sundried Tomato & Basil and Black Bean With Roasted Tomato & Smoked Paprika.

Each flavor is a blend of beans, vegetables and Mediterranean herbs and spices, and each has 2 grams of protein per serving.

"Our focus on the consumer guided us toward this category-expanding innovation,” said Liza Laibe, director of marketing innovation for Sabra.

Sabra holds 60% of the hummus market share, according to the company, and the Mediterranean Bean dips are its first product line to hit shelves since the company rebranded last month. Its packaging now includes Sabra’s new logo, an enhanced label design and a list of plant-based ingredients used in the dips.

"At Sabra, everything starts in the kitchen," said MaryDawn Wright, corporate executive chef for Sabra. "Each day, we taste, test and reimagine new possibilities in food to create flavorful ways of eating and connecting. Culinary inspiration comes from all around, and the nourishing warmth of rich bean flavor and aromatic scents of fresh herbs and spices come to life in this new line of Mediterranean Bean Dips.”

White Plains, N.Y.-based Sabra offers more than a dozen flavors of hummus and refrigerated dips, including salsa, guacamole and Greek yogurt dip, some of which are vegetarian, organic, gluten-free, kosher, vegan and made without genetically engineered ingredients. The company is a U.S./Canadian joint venture between Strauss Group and PepsiCo.
