Super Bowls of Candy

Harbaugh wives auctioning off Skinny Cow Candy Bowls for charity

GLENDALE, Calif. -- According to a Nielsen Co. survey, nearly 70% of American women will watch the Super Bowl. But in a recent survey of women ages 35 to 54 who are planning to watch on game day, 64% believe that traditional game day party menus are lacking "something."

Skinny Cow Candy has teamed up two of the most knowledgeable women in football, Sarah and Ingrid Harbaugh, wives of brothers and rival head coaches Jim and John Harbaugh, to find the "perfect game plan."

"Chips, dip and fried fatty foods are synonymous with traditional game-day menus," said Ingrid Harbaugh. "Now, with more women watching the game, we need a menu designed for us, starting with lower calorie options and delicious chocolate, of course."

And 35% of women admit to craving lighter alternatives to heavy appetizers, and 13% crave guilt-free chocolate treats.

Sarah and Ingrid helped create 25 custom-made, limited-edition Skinny Cow Candy Bowls to be auctioned on www.eBay.com/skinnycowcandy through February 5. All proceeds will go to CureSearch for Children's Cancer, a Harbaugh family charity.

Products in the Skinny Cow Candy line have 120 calorie or less. Skinny Cow Dreamy Clusters are bite-sized treats with crunchy crisps, covered in creamy caramel, and covered in either milk chocolate or dark chocolate. Skinny Cow Heavenly Crisp candy bars are wafers layered with either chocolate or peanut butter filling with a chocolaty coating.

All four Skinny Cow Candy flavors are currently available nationwide with a suggested retail price of 99 cents for single candy bars and $4.29 for take-home boxes.

From January 17 to January 19, 2012, an online survey was conducted among a sample of 502 American women aged 35-54 years who are planning on watching the Super Bowl, and who are Springboard America panel members.
