Altadis U.S.A. to Sell Nat Sherman Cigars

Deal hoped to extend products' reach

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Altadis U.S.A. announced its appointment by Nat Sherman International as the exclusive distributor of several lines of Nat Sherman cigars in the United States. The lines, now available through Altadis U.S.A. sales representatives, are Nat Sherman Sauve, Nat Sherman 489 and1400 Series and the Omerta Nat Sherman Private Selection.

"We have a rich history within the industry and a name that has always been associated with quality," said Joel Sherman, president of Nat Sherman Inc., New York. "However, due to recent changes in OTP [other tobacco products] taxing regulations, [image-nocss] it has been increasingly difficult for us to give our cigars the attention they deserve."

He continued, "We have always enjoyed a warm relationship with Altadis U.S.A., and this is a unique opportunity for both parties. Having the ability to partner with such a professional sales force to represent and handle the sales of Nat Sherman cigars will certainly help further the Nat Sherman brand and make it more accessible to our consumers. It is a win/win for everyone—most importantly, our customers."

James Colucci, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Altadis U.S.A. added, "Nat Sherman is one of our industry's greatest and most revered names. We are proud to be associated with them, and we look forward to a long and productive relationship."
