Cumberland Farms Inks Distribution Deal With NJOY

NJOY Kings electronic cigarettes now available at chain's nearly 600 locations

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Cumberland Farms has forged a distribution partnership with leading electronic cigarette company NJOY. The partnership includes chainwide distribution of NJOY's newest e-cigarette, the NJOY Kings, to the nearly 600 Cumberland Farms retail locations in 11 states.

NJOY, founded in 2006, has become a market leader in the e-cigarette category, achieving a 38.5% market share of dollars, citing 2012 Nielsen Scan Track numbers in convenience stores.

The first independent e-cigarette company to support the nationally recognized We Card Program and join its Manufacturers Advisory Council, NJOY is available in more than 30,000 retail stores nationwide including 17 of the nation's top 20 c-store chains, it said.

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based NJOY offers a variety of rechargeable and nonrechargeable e-cigarette products. These products provide nicotine and tobacco and menthol flavor without smoke or odor.

Framingham, Mass.-based Cumberland Farms operates approximately 600 c-stores throughout the Northeast and Florida. Cumberland Farms is parent company to Gulf Oil LP, one of the largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. The Cumberland Gulf Group is a strategic amalgamation of Cumberland Farms and Gulf Oil. It is a privately held, family-owned and managed company that includes real-estate and midstream gasoline operations. The Cumberland Gulf Group serves approximately 3,300 stations within its geographic area. These stations sell more than 2.8 billion gallons of motor fuels annually. In 2011, The Cumberland Gulf Group generated approximately $13 billion of sales.
