Eby-Brown's Gordon Named IATCD President

Will serve as head of tobacco, candy distributors' group

OAK BROOK, Ill. -- Jeff Gordon, key account manager for Eby-Brown, was installed as the Illinois Association of Tobacco & Candy Distributors' president last weekend.

Gordon, a 25-year veteran of Eby-Brown, has served as the IATCD's vice president for the past two years, as well as on its board of directors.

The IATCD was formed 56 years ago to address the issues facing the distributor community with regards to taxation and regulation at all levels of governmentlocal, state and federal. Working with a full-time lobbyist, the [image-nocss] IATCD coordinates responses to many challenges with the help of its members, manufacturers and other interested state groups.

The challenges facing our industry are many and come from all directions, Gordon said. Just as soon as we finish fighting a local ordinance, then a damaging state or federal piece of legislation is offered up. It is my goal to marshal the forces of our wholesale and manufacturer community to fight as hard as we can against the attacks upon our livelihood.

Gordon's term as president will last for two years.

A privately held company, Eby-Brown, with headquarters in Naperville, Ill., is one of the largest distributors in the United States, providing consumer goods and other products to retailers in the convenience channel of trade.
