FDA's Deyton to Speak at 2011 NATO Show

MINNEAPOLIS -- The National Association of Tobacco Outlets (NATO) has announced that Dr. Lawrence Deyton, the director of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration's (FDA)s Center for Tobacco Products, will be one of the keynote speakers at the 2011 NATO Show. Earlier this year, NATO announced it will celebrate its 10th anniversary and launch its inaugural NATO Show, April 12-14, 2011, at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.

The presentation by Deyton will afford industry attendees the opportunity to hear first hand about the FDA's regulation of cigarettes, roll-your-own (RYO) tobacco [image-nocss] and smokeless tobacco.

NATO and CSP Information Group, the official media partner, have combined efforts to formulate the list of educational sessions. The educational topics include: The First Annual NATO-CSP Tobacco Insider Report. U.S. Tobacco Trends & Insights. Tobacco Inventory Management 101. Idea Exchange: Growing the Cigar & Pipe Tobacco Business. 2011 Tobacco Legislative & Regulatory Environment. Capitalizing on the Change in Consumptive Patterns. OTP: Seismic Shift in Tobacco Infrastructure. Also, online registration to attend the 2011 NATO Show will be available on the trade show website by October 15. Dozens of manufacturers and distributorsincluding Nat Sherman, Altadis USA, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., Swisher International, Swedish Match, Republic Tobacco, National Tobacco Co. and American Snuff Co.have signed on to exhibit at the show.

As part of the partnership, CSP will work with NATO and its trade-show management company, Renaissance Association Management LLC, to market the 2011 NATO Show. In addition, CSP, which already delivers the most tobacco editorial content in the convenience trade press, will publish a special NATO Show issue to coincide with the April show and a special show directory at the event.
