JR Cigar Appoints New CEO

Maneson to lead internet, retail company

WHIPPANY, N.J. -- Tabacalera USA, the U.S.-based premium-cigar operations of Imperial Brands plc, has appointed Rob Maneson the new chief executive officer of its JR Cigar unit.

Maneson, who was general manager of Tabacalera’s Casa de Montecristo division, which features company-owned and -licensed cigar stores, will lead JR Cigar from the company’s base in Whippany, N.J. He will continue to report to Javier Estades, president and CEO of Tabacalera USA, who said a new general manager for Casa de Montecristo will be appointed soon.

JR Cigar is one of the largest online and retail cigar companies in the United States, the company said.

“Rob’s elevation to head of JR Cigar reflects his leadership and an experience gained in the organization over a number of years, including prior management experience with both JR Cigar and Altadis USA [Richmond, Va.], and most recently with Casa de Montecristo,” Estades said.

Imperial Brands is a Bristol, U.K.-based tobacco company with affiliates across the globe and significant assets in premium cigars.
