Why Every Tobacco Retailer Should Attend the NATO Show

The 2016 tradeshow will include regulatory updates, hot new products and an appearance by Mitch Zeller

MINNEAPOLIS -- The NATO Show was created for retailers who sell tobacco products and the upcoming 2016 NATO Show will provide first-rate educational seminars on the most important tobacco topics that concern retailers and offer hundreds of exhibitor booths with the latest tobacco products on the market.

NATO Show

The NATO Show is the only national retail tobacco trade show that applies 100% of the show proceeds to supporting NATO’s legislative efforts on the local, state and federal level. By attending the NATO Show, you help support the association’s grassroots opposition to proposed tobacco taxes and sales restrictions that cities, counties, states and Congress propose. NATO exists to protect the right of retailers to sell legal tobacco products without undue selling restrictions or unfair taxes. In fact, NATO is the only national retail trade group that focuses all of its resources on tobacco-related issues and your attendance at the NATO Show will support the retail tobacco industry.

With the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) working to finalize the deeming regulations that would extend the agency’s regulatory authority to cigars, pipe tobacco and e-cigarettes/vapor products, the FDA’s director of the Center for Tobacco Products, Mitch Zeller, will be one of the key speakers that retailers should hear at the 2016 NATO Show.

Other educational seminars for convenience retailers include a presentation on the “State of Tobacco” by Bonnie Herzog of Wells Fargo Securities, an update on FDA regulations plus local and state tobacco legislation by NATO executive director Thomas Briant, a seminar on “Marketplace Trends and Insights” by Don Burke of Management Science Associates, a session titled “A Study in Domestic Cigars” by Joe Teller of Swedish Match, and an in-depth look at “Maximizing E-Vapor Sales and Profits” with Keith Canning of Pine State Trading.

If you regularly attend the NATO Show or if you have not been to the NATO Show in the past several years, you need to attend the upcoming 2016 NATO Show from April 19-21 at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The NATO Show is truly the premier “all tobacco trade show” that benefits every kind of tobacco retailer.
