#CRU14 Blog: A C-Store Field Trip

A taste of three Phoenix food trucks

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A field trip on the first day of school?! Sure, why not.

I basically spent this morning on the road, visiting convenience stores and other retail locations of interest in CRU’s store tours.

Now, it always amazes me how many industry folks are eager to visit convenience stores when they get out of the office. So it’s no surprise c-store tours have become a staple of Convenience Retailing University, annually filling our buses to capacity as attendees look for ideas to bring home.

Things were no different this year, as CRU headed to several interesting c-stores in and around Phoenix and mixed things up by including intriguing foodservice and restaurant concepts, as well as visits from three local food trucks.

It’s impossible to get to all nine sites/trucks in the time allotted, so I will highlight two of the convenience stores over the next couple of days, but begin today with a look at the food trucks. See slide show below.
