With 108 LEED-certified “green” convenience stores—and more on the way—and a penchant for great customer service, Kum & Go isn’t afraid to price its gasoline above local market averages—a stunning 4.7 cents per gallon (CPG) above average in 2016, according to OPIS. Still, with an active rollout of E15 at some stores, the chain doesn’t hesitate to cut prices for the sake of drawing attention. In September 2016, the West Des Moines, Iowa-based chain sold E15 for $1.15 per gallon at nine locations to introduce customers to the fuel blend.
