Additech Reaches 500th Murphy USA Site

Additive-at-the-pump firm hopes to hit 800 sites by yearend

HOUSTON -- Additech, which provides the "tune-up-at-the-pump" engine care system, has reached a growth landmark with the opening of its 500th Murphy USA store, in Heber Springs, Ark. The company has doubled its store count over the past 15 months, it said. Additech currently operates at more than 700 locations in 16 states and said it plans to expand to 800 fuel centers by the end of 2008.

Additech features engine cleaners that are blended into consumers' fuel as they pump and clean their engine as they drive.

"We hope that Additech's line up of products make engine care more convenient [image-nocss] and accessible for everyone who lives in the Heber Springs area," says Ralph Koehrer, CEO of Additech.

Additech installed its system at the first Murphy USA store late in 2003.

"Murphy USA was the first fuel retailer to introduce Additech. It has been a win for Murphy USA and our customers because it's convenient and helps consumers take better care of their vehicles," said Paul Wells, vice president of retail operations of Murphy USA.

Additech also recently received Vendor of the Year recognition by Murphy USA. Murphy USA evaluated businesses on their service, execution, price, information, reliability, interest in growing MurphyUSA's business, and ability to understand the fuel industry.

"Through all of our growth over the past couple of years, our focus has remained on our commitment to provide the best fueling experience for our customers," Koehrer adds. "And we look forward to doing that at our newest location."

Additech, headquartered in Houston, builds and operates an at-the-pump engine maintenance system that combines patented technology with fuel additives. Additech's system blends specialty fuel additives into gasoline as it is pumped.
