Alon Brands, GreenPrint Expand Reduced Emissions Fuel Program

Benefits environment while encouraging sales, loyalty, destination fill-up

LUBBOCK, Texas -- In partnership with The Arbor Day Foundation, Alon Brands and GreenPrint LLC, creator of the first reduced emissions fuel programs, are launching the Strive – Reduced Emissions Fuel Program for the first time in Lubbock, Texas.

The sustainability program is now available at more than 50 Alon 7-Eleven gas locations in Texas and New Mexico.

The Strive – Reduced Emissions Fuel Program allows drivers to feel good about the fuel they pump and support their community and environment just by filling up at an Alon 7-Eleven location. Now, for every gallon of fuel purchased in Lubbock, Alon will plant trees locally and invest in other projects to neutralize the associated tailpipe emissions by up to 30%.

“We’ve been very pleased with the impact the Strive program has made in the Albuquerque community, so expanding the program to our Lubbock stores was a natural next step,” said Jonathan Ketchum, senior vice president of retail at Alon Brands. “As a part of our relationship with GreenPrint, we’re looking forward to planting at least 5,000 trees throughout New Mexico and Texas this year.”

The Strive – Reduced Emissions Fuel Program reduces customers’ tailpipe emissions through GreenPrint's proprietary platform and investments in local, regional and global certified carbon reduction projects and tree plantings. Unlike alternative fuels, GreenPrint's reduced emissions gasoline program requires no new software, hardware, new tanks, vehicles or equipment. Instead, customers with traditional vehicles pump the same ALON fuel as always.

While benefiting the environment, the program also aims to drive sales, increase loyalty and encourage customers to always choose Alon 7-Eleven stations.

Until the time comes when everyone is driving zero-emission vehicles, Strive is a simple program to help address a global challenge, the company said.

“Alon has long invested in its communities, and we are proud to join them in this process,” said Peter Davis, founder and CEO of GreenPrint. “We’re excited to continue expanding the positive impact Strive has had for Alon thus far. Today, 90% of consumers take a few extra steps to the blue bin to recycle because it’s easy to do the right thing. Similarly, Alon 7-Eleven is making it easy for consumers to drive clean. We believe that the people in Lubbock will continue to turn into Alon 7-Eleven stations when it’s time to fill up.”

Based in Atlanta, GreenPrint is an innovator of sustainability as a service. The company's patent-pending products provide municipalities, commercial fleet managers and petroleum retailers the ability to build goodwill, enhance brand loyalty and increase market share.

Based in Dallas, AlonN Brands markets ALON motor fuel products at more than 800 locations and is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in North America.
