Atlas Oil Expanding Operational Footprint

Directly supplying Central Ill. stations; adding assets in Ill., Ind., N.M., Texas
TAYLOR, Mich. -- Atlas Oil Co. is expanding its operational footprint with its latest move into Central Illinois. A number of gas stations in the Champaign area previously fueled by common carriers are now being handled directly by Atlas, the company said. Fuel deliveries include all grades of gasoline, diesel, bio-diesel and E-85 for flex-fuel vehicles.

"Atlas Oil's expansion into Central Illinois is yet another example of how we develop customer relationships and leverage transportation resources for a fueling advantage," said Bob Kenyon, vice president of sales and operations. "[image-nocss] We are actively pursuing a strategy that will expand our fuel distribution and supply management footprint to the entire country."

In the past six months alone, Atlas has added assets and drivers to Fort Wayne and Muncie, Ind., Arlington Heights, Ill., Albuquerque, N.M., and next month will add Odessa, Texas, to the list. In Albuquerque and Odessa, Atlas is operating ethanol transloading facilities and performing local fueling services.

A dozen new drivers have been added along with new transport vehicles, said the company.

Overall, Atlas has more than 400 employees, a fleet of 100 trucks and is licensed to serve in 23 statesnearly half of the continental United States. The company's commercial transportation business supplies companies with fuel solutions. Atlas also has a mobile fueling tankwagon business and supplies nearly 400 retail gasoline convenience stores throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio representing six gasoline brands. Atlas also is a leader in renewable fuels with a focus on biodiesel and ethanol transportation. Atlas continues to expand its fuel supply and trading business headquartered in Houston.

Headquartered in Taylor, Mich., Atlas maintains operational centers in Michigan, Indiana, Texas and Ohio and satellite offices in Minneapolis, Scottsdale, Ariz., Niles, Mich., Hammond, Ind., and Albuquerque, N.M.
