Atlas Oil to Offer Diesel Exhaust Fluid

Signs deal to be master distributor for BlueDEF
TAYLOR, Mich. -- Atlas Oil Co. is now offering diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), which was recently mandated in all new 2010 and beyond diesel vehicles. Atlas is a master distributor for BlueDEF brand diesel exhaust fluid, produced by Old World Industries, the manufacturer of Peak Performance antifreeze and other world-class automotive products.

Atlas has signed an agreement with Old World Industries to be the exclusive master distributor of its BlueDEF product and dispensing equipment with open access to marketing in all geographic areas within the Atlas footprint.

"We [image-nocss] are excited to offer a turnkey DEF program for customers," said Bob Kenyon, executive vice president of sales and business development at Atlas Oil. "At Atlas, we are always looking for ways to provide greater value to our customers. Diesel exhaust fluid is a critical component for fleet owners and we believe we have the highest-quality, lab tested product to offer."

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has mandated the reduction of NOx emissions released into the environment. As part of the EPA 2010 plan, NOx emissions from new vehicles beginning in 2010 must be reduced to nearly zero. The leading technology to meet this standard is Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, an emissions reduction system requiring the use of DEF. Because of the new federal mandate, all on-road diesel powered vehicles are now required to meet this standard. Off-road vehicles will be mandated by 2014.

DEF is an after exhaust treatment fluid used in SCR systems. It is made of urea and deionized water that helps to reduce particulate matter and NOx from diesel exhaust. Atlas is offering DEF via jugs, drums, totes and bulk tank systems. DEF requires dedicated distribution trucks and dispensing systems. Atlas will be able to supply all of its customers' infrastructure needs in addition to the actual fluid.

Atlas has added a new sales associate, Robert Torres, who is responsible for BlueDEF sales. Torres brings with him more than 20 years of sales experience in the automotive and fuel industries.

Taylor, Mich.-based Atlas is a national petroleum products distributor and services provider. It meets the fuel and service needs of businesses, municipalities and governments in 23 states. Atlas also supplies fuel to nearly 400 gasoline convenience stores throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
