Bartlett Stepping Down at WPMCA

Group's president will join utility as public affairs director

MADISON, Wis. -- Bob Bartlett, president of the Wisconsin Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association (WPMCA), announced this week his plans to resign his position and join the staff at Alliant Energy Corp., according to the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA).

At Alliant Energy, Bartlett will serve as director of public affairs and will oversee public policy development at the local, state, and federal levels for the utility's two primary domestic subsidiaries, Interstate Power & Light Co. and Wisconsin Power & Light Co.

Bartlett has been a significant [image-nocss] leader among PMAA's association executives for more than 15 years, and his contributions to WPMCA and PMAA have been substantial, the group said.

"Bob is a very talented legislative strategist, and I can understand why Alliant wanted him leading their efforts," said PMAA president Dan Gilligan. "It is a significant loss for both PMAA and WPMCA."

Bartlett said he plans to depart WPMCA on March 7, 2008.

Prior to WPMCA, he worked as the assistant director of the Wisconsin Petroleum Council, as well as serving as Senior Policy Advisor to former Wisconsin Governor Anthony Earl.
