BP 'Official Fuel Provider' of N.Y. Giants

Sponsorship includes 2009 farewell tribute to stadium
WARRENVILLE, Ill. -- BP Products North America Inc. BP is the "Official Fuel Provider" of the New York Giants. The company said it has teamed up with the ball club to give fans a "tank full" of memories. As the team plays its final season at the current Giants Stadium, BP will be there to celebrate the greatest moments in the history of the stadium and the players who helped make those moments legendary. The new relationship is part of the company's ongoing initiative to increase awareness for BP gasoline with Invigorate, a formula that the company says helps cars run younger for [image-nocss] longer.

"The Giants organization understands the importance of a winning team, and we are proud to be a part of it," said Kevin Phelan, senior vice president of fuels marketing for BP. "As the Official Fuel Provider of the Giants, we will not only celebrate their legacy but we will help millions of fans experience the benefits of BP gasoline with Invigorate."

As part of the program, BP will host alumni player appearances at BP stations throughout the New York metro area, where players will sign autographs and pose for pictures. BP will also serve as the exclusive retail location for the "Top 10 Moments in Giants Stadium History" collectible posters. These 10 individual posters celebrate Giants Stadium's rich history and are a must-have for all die-hard Giants fans.

Fans also can visit Giants.com to enter the "BP Ultimate Giants Fan" promotion, where many Giants-related prizes will be awarded, including a VIP experience, complete with game tickets, pre-game on-field credentials, a meet and greet with a Giants alumni player and access to the team's post-game press conference at the final 2009 home game and the first home game of the 2010 season.

In addition, the program includes TV and radio advertising, in-stadium advertising and space on the Giants Internet network where the benefits of BP gasoline with Invigorate will be featured. BP will also have a game-day presence at each of the 10 Giants home games in 2009 with a large, interactive marketing display outside Gate C and roaming marketing elements, which will provide multiple opportunities for Giants fans to win BP gift cards and other football-related items.

"BP and the Giants are teaming up to share 33 years of great moments at Giants Stadium with millions of Giants fans through a special series of collectible posters, as a thank you to the greatest fan base in sports," said Michael Stevens, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at the New York Giants.

BP markets more than 15 billion gallons of gasoline every year to U.S. consumers through more than 12,000 BP and ARCO branded retail outlets and supplies more than four billion gallons of fuel annually to fleets, industrial users, auto and truck manufacturers, railroads and utilities. BP is the single, global brand formed by the combination of the former British Petroleum, Amoco, Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) and Burmah Castrol.

A cornerstone franchise of the National Football League, the New York Football Giants began play in 1925. With seven (7) championships, including a victory over the 18-0 New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII at the conclusion of the 2007 season, and with more than 600 victories, the Giants are considered one of sports all-time great franchises. Headquartered at the TIMEX Performance Center in East Rutherford, NJ, the Giants enter their 85th season of play this fall.
