GasBuddy Partners With Sears’ Loyalty Program

Shop Your Way members can earn fuel savings by connecting to Pay With GasBuddy

BOSTON and HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. -- Members of department-store chain Sears’ Shop Your Way loyalty program can now earn cash back in points for gasoline purchases made through GasBuddy’s Pay With GasBuddy payment service.

Shop Your Way is a business unit of Sears Holdings, Hoffman Estates, Ill. Its membership totals in the tens of millions, accounting for more than 70% of Sears’ sales in 2017. Boston-based GasBuddy introduced the Pay With GasBuddy service in 2017 as part of its partnership with WEX, a provider of corporate payment solutions.

Shop Your Way members can enroll in the Pay With GasBuddy program online, at a local Sears or Kmart store, or over the phone, connecting the enrollment to a valid checking account. They then receive a card in the mail that is activated via the GasBuddy app. They can use the card at the pump to begin earning points with every fuel transaction.

In the first 60 days after connecting a Shop Your Way account with Pay With GasBuddy, members can earn 30 cents per gallon (CPG) cashback points for paid fill-ups. After this point, users earn 15 CPG in points. Existing Pay With GasBuddy users can earn Shop Your Way savings beyond their current 15 CPG savings on their first fill-up and 5 CPG for following fill-ups after signing up for Shop Your Way on the program’s website or mobile app. They can also earn and use Shop Your Way cashback points toward buying items at Sears Holdings stores or websites.

“Hundreds of thousands of U.S. motorists have already used Pay With GasBuddy to save on every gallon of gas they pump, because there are better options than paying full price,” said Michael DiLorenzo, chief marketing officer for GasBuddy. “By partnering with Shop Your Way, we can now deliver the biggest everyday savings offer tied to gasoline in the US.”
