Sheetz customer wins $2,000 to fuel car
CANTON, Ohio -- In a year when the phrase "free gas" gained ever-more-significant meaning, Sheetz awarded $2,000 worth of free gas to a Canton, Ohio, man yesterday as part of its "My Sheetz Card" reward program.

Dave Abrams won the "free gas for a year" giveaway when he was picked as a winner in Sheetz's loyalty-card promotional drawing.

Abrams used his Sheetz loyalty card to qualify. "He stopped in one night, made a purchase," Heather Mink, station manager, said. "One of our employees reminded him to scan his card on the kiosk. As it turns out, he was a winner."

Abrams [image-nocss] is an instructor of computer-aided drafting at Brown Mackie College in Jackson Township, Ohio, according to a report in the Canton Repository.

"I would like to get a more fuel-efficient car so I can extend this out," Abrams told the newspaper. "I am hoping it will go to at least July. I still don't believe that I won."

Abrams drives a Ford Explorer sport-utility vehicle. Altoona, Pa.,-based Sheetz is using this loyalty-card program as a promotional program at its Ohio outlets.
