Gulf Oil LP, Framingham, Mass., has signed on fuel distributor Venture Fuels LLC, Holmen, Wis., which supplies convenience stores, commercial/industrial end users and governmental agencies throughout the upper Midwest. Through the partnership, Venture Fuels can offer the Gulf brand to the stations it supplies in Wisconsin, Minnesota and other states. The first Gulf-branded Wisconsin site will be Zzip Stop in La Farge, owned since 2003 by Shane and Emilee Nottestad.

“We are very proud to add the Gulf brand to our arsenal,” said Dave Johnson, president of Venture Fuels. “Our partnership lines up perfectly with our goal of giving our customers the best fuel-buying experience at the best prices possible. To be the first ones to bring the Gulf brand back to Wisconsin is a pretty big deal, and working with small business owners with the passion that Shane and Emilee have at Zzip Stop makes it that much better.”

This marks Gulf’s return after more than two decades to Wisconsin, which is the 32nd state the brand now serves.

“Venture Fuels is a terrific partner for us as we continue our national expansion and move back into areas of the upper Midwest—including Wisconsin—that haven’t seen the Gulf brand in over 20 years,” said Rick Dery, senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer at Gulf Oil.

“We are very pleased to be providing Venture’s customers with quality products and services at competitive rates, and know we will have great success together,” he said. “Wisconsin’s state motto is ‘Forward!’—and that is exactly what we are doing as we progressively grow Gulf’s footprint across the nation.”
