H-E-B Expands Additech Fuel System Tune-Up Offering

Grocer rolls out additive dispensers across remainder of its fuel center network
SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Supermarket retailer H.E. Butt Grocery Co. (H-E-B) has rolled out Additech Inc.'s tune-up at the pump program to the remainder of its fuel centers. Additech's latest generation of fuel additive dispenser is built into Dresser Wayne Ovation fuel dispensers to offer consumers fuel additives mixed with their gasoline as they pump. The installations will take place during the last quarter of 2009 and be completed by January 2010.

"This expansion to the remainder of H-E-B's fuel centers is especially important to Additech because it marks the first rollout [image-nocss] of our new integrated Dresser Wayne Ovation/Additech fuel additive dispenser. We are pleased to be working closely with Dresser Wayne and H-E-B, whose fuels team was instrumental in bringing this solution to market," said Andrew Austin, Additech CEO.

"We've been working with Additech for three years and our mutual desire was to have an integrated, seamless fuel dispenser/Additech solution that could be rolled out to the remainder of our fuel centers. Together Dresser Wayne and Additech delivered a solution that exceeded our expectations and improved the fueling experience for our customers," said George Presses, director of petroleum marketing at H-E-B.

"H-E-B's customers appreciate the Additech service offering. And, H-E-B enjoys the income Additech delivers," added James Aulds, vice president of petroleum marketing at H-E-B.

Additech, headquartered in Houston, is a leading North American outsourced operator of at-the-pump interactive merchandising systems. Additech's patented systems, installed on more than 4,000 fueling positions, enable fuel retailers to merchandise a variety of products and services to consumers right at the gasoline pump. The company's technology integrates with fuel dispensers and point-of-sale systems to offer retailers a complete merchandising solution.

The company offers its solutions to fuel retailers on a turnkey services basis, meaning that Additech manufactures, installs, operates and maintains its equipment on behalf of fuel retailers. Retailers receive a share of Additech's revenues, without having to make a capital investment while Additech is responsible for operating and maintaining the systems.

San Antonio, Texas-based H-E-B has more than 300 stores in Texas and northern Mexico.
