NACS names new executive committee, retailer members to board

LAS VEGAS -- The National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) announced the election of its 2009-2010 Executive Committee during its board of directors meeting at the NACS Show in Las Vegas. Jay Ricker, president of Anderson, Ind.-based Ricker Oil Co., was named the association's 2009-2010 chairman. Ricker also chairs the NACS Executive Committee, which provides strategic direction and financial oversight to the association.

Also named to the NACS Executive Committee were the following NACS retail members: Vice Chairman-Treasurer: Jeff Miller, president of Norfolk, Va.-based Miller Oil Co. Inc. Vice Chairman of Research: Greg Parker, president of Savannah, Ga.-based The Parker Cos., elected to his fourth term. NACS Vice Chairman of Government Relations: Tom Robinson, President of San Jose, Calif.-based Robinson Oil Corp., elected to his third term. Vice Chairman of Member Services: Nichole Torsey, president of Redding, Calif.-based Mountain Counties Supply Co., elected to her second term. NACS Vice Chairman of Convention & Events: Dave Carpenter, president and CEO of Urbandale, Iowa-based J.D. Carpenter Cos. Inc., elected to his second term. NACS Vice Chairman at Large: Patrick Lewis, partner of Twin Falls, Idaho-based Oasis Stop 'N Go Convenience Stores, elected to his first term. NACS Vice Chairman at Large: Brad Call, general counsel and executive vice president of human resources, public relations and adventure culture of North Salt Lake, Utah-based Maverik Inc., elected to his first term. The NACS retail members elected to serve on the board are: Gary Arthur, senior vice president of Valero Energy Corp., and president of Valero Retail Holdings Inc. (San Antonio, Texas). Edward Holmes, president of Holmes Oil Co. Inc. (Chapel Hill, N.C.). Anthony Kenney, president of Speedway SuperAmerica LLC (Enon, Ohio). Max Lenker, president of RaceTrac Petroleum Inc. (Atlanta). Steve Loehr, vice president of operations support for Kwik Trip Inc. (La Crosse, Wis.) Bipin Patel, president of Speedy Mart Development Inc. (Springfield, N.J.) Joe Sheetz, executive vice president of finance and real estate for Sheetz Inc. (Altoona, Pa.). A member-driven organization, NACS is lead by a 30-member board; 28 industry retailers are elected to the board, including two retailers from non-North American countries. In addition, the chairman and chairman-elect of the NACS Supplier Board also serve on the board of directors.
