HOUSTON -- Fuel from Gulf Racing Fuels is now being distributed by Lee Oil Co. Inc., a full-service wholesale distributor of fuels and lubricants located in Alvin, Texas.
Lee Oil Co. Inc. offers a variety of Gulf racing fuels, including Gulf Legend leaded fuels for vintage and historic racers; Gulf Mach high-octane unleaded fuels available in three different octanes designed for cars with engine management systems; and Gulf Marine and ATV fuel, the off-road fuel made with Gevo Inc.’s moisture-resistant renewable isobutanol. Gulf E98 Race Fuel will be available in the future.
Products are available in prepackaged 5 gallon containers as well as 54 gallon drums.
Lee Oil Co. Inc. has chosen to market Gulf racing fuels due to their leadership is several areas.
Gulf Marine ethanol-free gasoline is approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and can be used in nonattainment areas including the Houston-Galveston, Texas, area.
Also, the Gulf brand is legendary in motorsports and is a major sponsor of several well-known racing teams, including Aston-Martin and Radical Sports Cars.
“We were supplying premium unleaded E10 to a local race track and wanted to offer a quality product that would better meet the needs of their customers," said Don Lee, president. "Representatives from Gulf and the racetrack assessed the requirements and specifications and proposed the ethanol-free gasoline in a 93 octane as well as a 100 octane. We delivered the fuel, announced the conversion and ultimately, the track sold out of the product in its very first weekend of availability. People just kept coming to buy the ethanol-free gasoline. The response to these new products has been tremendous. ”

Gulf Racing Fuels has returned to the track with new racing fuels designed for the legendary vintage and historic racing cars as well as the latest racing and street cars. Racing fuels are available in high octanes, both unleaded and leaded. Gulf also offers marine and small engine fuels featuring isobutanol. All fuels are distributed nationally by Houston-based Hyperfuels.
