MAPCO Express Gets New Marketing VP

O'Dell replaces departing Pierce

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- Paul Pierce, vice president of marketing for Delek US Holdings Inc. wholly owned direct subsidiary MAPCO Express Inc., resigned from his employment with MAPCO on September 19, 2008. MAPCO's board of directors has appointed Kimberly O'Dell, formerly MAPCO's vice president of merchandising, to succeed Pierce as vice president of marketing, according to documents filed with the U.S. Securities & Exchange (SEC).

Pierce served as vice president of marketing since September 2004. Prior to joining MAPCO, he was a consultant from January 2004 through August 2004, developing [image-nocss] convenience stores for D&D Oil Inc. From 1997 to December 2003, he held executive level positions at c-store chain Golden Gallon Inc., where his responsibilities included managing all merchandise sales, vendor negotiations and contracts, retail pricing, advertising, imaging, store layouts and design, budgeting and operations team oversight.

In his experience in the retail fuel and convenience store industry, he has held a variety of marketing roles that include vice president of marketing, director of merchandising, field marketing manager and director of advertising. Pierce also has been employed by Crown Central Petroleum Corp., Kangaroo Inc. and Palmetto Merchandise Inc.

Delek US, a subsidiary of Israel-based The Delek Group,is a diversified energy business focused on petroleum refining, marketing and supply of refined products, and retail marketing of fuel and general merchandise. The refining segment operates a refinery in Tyler, Texas. The marketing and supply segment markets refined products through its terminals in Abilene, Texas, and San Angelo, Texas, as well as other third-party terminals. The retail segment markets gasoline, diesel and other refined petroleum products and convenience merchandise through a network of company-operated retail fuel and c-stores, operated under the MAPCO Express and Favorite Markets brands.

MAPCO Express Inc., Brentwood, Tenn., operates nearly 500 retail fuel and c-stores under the MAPCO Mart, MAPCO Express, Discount Food Mart, FAST Food & Fuel, Favorite Markets and East Coast brand names located primarily in and around Memphis, Chattanooga and Nashville, Tenn., northern Georgia, northern Alabama and Richmond, Va.
