Marathon Makes Senior Management Changes

Templin named president of MPLX

FINDLAY, Ohio -- Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC), president and CEO Gary R. Heminger has announced changes in the company's senior management structure that will be effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Donald C. Templin, executive vice president of supply, transportation and marketing, has been named president of midstream master limited partnership MPLX. Templin will continue to report to Heminger and remain an executive vice president of MPC. He will be located in Findlay, Ohio.

He was appointed senior vice president and CFO of Marathon Petroleum in 2011 and served in that role until assuming his current position in 2015.

Prior to joining Marathon Petroleum in 2011, Templin was the managing partner of the audit practice for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.

Templin is on the downstream committee of the American Petroleum Institute (API) and serves on the board of directors and executive committee of the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM).

Also effective Jan. 1, Pamela K. M. Beall, MPC's senior vice president of corporate planning, government and public affairs, will become executive vice president of corporate planning and strategy at MPLX, reporting to Templin. She will also remain in Findlay.

Additionally, David L. Whikehart, director of product supply and optimization, has been named vice president of corporate planning, government and public affairs, succeeding Beall. He will report to Heminger and remain in Findlay.

MPC is the nation's fourth-largest refiner, with a crude oil refining capacity of approximately 1.8 million barrels per calendar day in its seven-refinery system. Marathon-brand gasoline is sold through approximately 5,600 independently owned gas stations across 19 states. In addition, Enon, Ohio-based Speedway LLC, an MPC subsidiary, owns and operates the nation's second-largest convenience-store chain, with approximately 2,760 c-stores in 22 states. MPC owns, leases or has ownership interests in approximately 8,300 miles of crude and light product pipelines and 5,000 miles of gas gathering and natural gas liquids (NGL) pipelines.

Through subsidiaries, MPC owns the general partner of MPLX LP, a midstream MLP. MPC's fully integrated system provides operational flexibility to move crude oil, NGLs, feedstocks and petroleum-related products efficiently through the company's distribution network and midstream service businesses in the Midwest, Southeast and Gulf Coast regions.
