GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Gilbarco Veeder-Root has introduced the new ergonomically designed Encore S Series dispenser.
"The new design builds upon Gilbarco's Encore dispenser," said Jon DeLine, product manager for Gilbarco Veeder-Root.
The Encore S Series features a refined style that delivers an intuitive customer experience, said the Greensboro, N.C.-based company. This results in 13% faster customer input, improving throughput and profitability during peak periods, it added.
The new design consolidates all [image-nocss] transactional elements into a 12-in. by 21-in. rectangular area. Tactile and visual cues improve consumer efficiency in operating the dispenser.
Larry Elmore, vice president for Randolph Oil, Asheboro, N.C., has had the dispensers installed for more than six months. He said, "Our customers comment that they like the new dispensers because theyare fast and so easy to use."
The Encore S Series also features Gilbarco's SMART Technologies. Solid construction and quality materials are backed by a four-year warranty on most exterior surfaces. Also, new security features reduce fraud potential.

The Gilbarco SMART technologies include:
SMART Merchandising: Drives in-store traffic and sales by enabling promotional programs at the dispenser. Coupons are issued at the dispenser for immediate redemption inside the store. SMART Connect: Reduces service and compliance costs through remote diagnostics and troubleshooting. SMART Meter: Reduces fuel losses by eliminating "drift" and the resulting need for calibration. SMART Meter also reduces fuel loss resulting from theft and fraud by detecting and responding to tampering attempts. SMART Flow: Enables maximum throughput when sites are at their busiest.The new security features include sensors that enable remote monitoring and enhanced physical security. The Encore S Series also features tighter control of dispenser programming and price change modes and options that provide additional encryption of consumer PIN entry used in debit transactions.
