Murphy Oil Downstream Changes

Promotes McKinlay to EVP operations, assumes marketing role from retiring Heithaus

EL DORADO, Ark. -- Murphy Oil Corp. said that effective immediately, Tom McKinlay has been promoted to executive vice president of worldwide downstream operations for Murphy Oil Corp. In his new role, McKinlay will assume responsibility for domestic marketing operations with the retirement of Hank Heithaus.

McKinlay will maintain responsibility for the El Dorado, Ark.-based oil company's worldwide manufacturing operations, which include refining, terminals, renewable energy and international downstream operations, including Murphy Eastern Oil Co. and Murco [image-nocss] Petroleum Ltd.

He joined Murphy in 1991, holding several positions with the company's U.K. subsidiary until taking a brief hiatus in 2001. In 2005, McKinlay rejoined Murphy in the United Kingdom, where he stayed until being promoted to general manager, supply & transportation and transferring to Murphy Oil USA Inc. in 2008. He was promoted to vice president of U.S. manufacturing for Murphy Oil Corp. in 2009 and to senior vice president of the company in 2010.

McKinlay will continue to report to David Wood, president and CEO of Murphy Oil.

Henry J. Heithaus is vice president of marketing of Murphy Oil Corp. He has also served as senior vice president of marketing of the company's U.S. refining and marketing subsidiary since May 2008 and was vice president of retail marketing for this subsidiary from June 2003 to April 2008.

Murphy Oil is an international oil and gas company that produces oil and natural gas in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Malaysia and conducts exploration activities worldwide. It owns refining and marketing operations in the United States and the United Kingdom. Murphy USA Marketing Co. (Murphy Oil USA Inc.) operates retail gasoline stations under the Murphy USA brand across 20 states. These are high-volume, low-cost retail gasoline stations, primarily in the parking areas of Wal-Mart Supercenters. Murphy Oil USA also operates a network of 12 company-owned terminals. These terminals, along with numerous third-party terminals, provide fuel supply to retail and branded wholesale stations throughout 23 states.
