Pilot Flying J Acquires Two New Pa. Locations, Opens More

Doors open on new sites Iowa, Alberta, Illinois

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Pilot Flying J has acquired new Pilot Travel Center locations in Duncannon and Frystown, Pa., reported TruckingInfo.com. The company also has announced new locations in Iowa, Alberta and Illinois.

The Duncannon location, formerly Clarks Ferry All American Travel Plaza, an 8,520-square-foot travel center, will feature six fuel islands and seven diesel islands. The Frystown location, formerly Frystown All American Plaza, a 12,500-square-foot travel center, will feature four fuel islands, 11 diesel islands and one RV island.

Both Pilot Travel Center locations will feature diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) at the pump. Both will include a convenience store, vending machines, pay phones, fax and copy services, Western Union, an ATM, lottery tickets, an arcade and general merchandise for professional drivers and highway travelers, a CAT scale and laundry services.

The Duncannon travel center will feature five automated showers and 65 parking spaces for trucks, and the Frystown location will feature eight automated showers and 200 parking spaces. Both locations also feature driver services such as Transflo and Trip Pak, so professional drivers can get in and out of the store quickly and be on their way.

Also, Pilot Flying J opened a new Pilot Travel Center in Osceola, Iowa, on December 12. The 5,500-square-foot travel center features four fuel islands and seven diesel islands along with DEF and biodiesel at the pump. The facility also features a Subway restaurant and a c-store.

"We hope that Osceola area residents and fleet customers will enjoy the convenience and amenities of our new Pilot Travel Center," said Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Flying J. "The travel center will serve this community through products and services as well as contribute to the local economy through jobs and tax revenue. And, we'll fill the needs of those carrying goods to communities across the nation."

The Osceola location includes a Subway restaurant, clean restrooms, pay phones, an AirVac, fax and copy services, Western Union and money orders, an ATM, lottery tickets, an arcade, laundry services, and general merchandise. In addition to diesel fuel, DEF and biodiesel at the pump, professional drivers have access to such services as a CAT scale, five automated showers and 80 parking spaces for trucks. It also features Transflo and Trip Pak.

Pilot plans to add additional RV parking to the Osceola location in the spring of 2012. RV customers also will have access to bulk propane and a dump station.

On December 6, Pilot Flying J opened a Flying J location in Nanton, Alberta, in Canada, with amenities including three showers, 40 parking spaces, three diesel lanes and a Humpty's restaurant.

And on December 5, it opened a Pilot Travel Center in Gilman, Ill. The 12,500-square-foot Iroquois County travel center features six fuel islands, eight diesel islands and two RV islands along with a Denny's restaurant and c-store. The location includes clean restrooms, vending machines, pay phones, an AirVac, fax and copy services, Western Union, an ATM, lottery tickets, an arcade and general merchandise.

In addition to diesel fuel, professional drivers have access to such services as DEF and biodiesel at the pump, a CAT scale, laundry services, seven automated showers and 74 parking spaces for trucks. It also features a DAT Load Board, as well as Transflo and Trip Pak.

RV customers have access to plenty of parking, bulk propane and a dump station in addition to the two RV fuel lanes.

Meanwhile, Pilot Flying J and IdleAir recently expanded their network partnership and are providing service to two more Pilot locations, one in Dalton, Ga., and the other in White Pine, Tenn.

IdleAir helps professional drivers sleep better and save money without idling their trucks. It provides heating/cooling, electricity, satellite TV, and Internet services at less than half the cost of idling.

IdleAir now operates 23 locations in nine states--Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Utah. It will also open additional sites in Carneys Point, N.J., (Flying J), Minnesota, Texas and Arizona soon.
