The company discovered the program error on February 17, said the report. Since then, both Kinder Morgan and Mobil have notified state officials about the mixup. Signs have also been placed at the affected stations telling customers [image-nocss] and offering to remedy the situation.
Kinder Morgan said it supplied 643,257 barrels of premium gasoline to the market during the time frame, about 2% of which contained regular grade fuel instead of premium grade fuel.
The Arizona Weights & Measures Department was made aware of the situation and is investigating and may fine the company, the report said, although that has not been determined yet.
The affected Mobil stations include four in Flagstaff, two in Kingman, and one in each in Ashfork, Winslow, Payson, Lake Havasu City, Quartzite, Williams, Mojave Valley, Tonopah, Wickenberg, Camp Verde and Snowflake, said the news outlet.
