Tanknology, Tyree Team Up

Offer combination of complementary UST services

AUSTIN, Texas & FARMINGDALE, N.Y. -- Two major players in the U.S. underground storage tank (UST) services market are joining forces in an alliance to provide petroleum operators throughout the mid-Atlantic and northeastern United States with turnkey UST compliance, repair and maintenance and construction solutions. Tanknology Inc, the nation's largest provider of environmental compliance testing services for petroleum systems, and Tyree, one of the country's largest multi-dimensional petroleum and environmental services companies, have formalized an alliance to bring the services [image-nocss] of each company together to provide a complete compliance testing, maintenance and environmental services program for petroleum operators in the East.

Tanknology provides compliance testing and related services, including UST tank and line tests, Stage I and II vapor recovery system testing, cathodic protection services, PetroScope visual internal tank inspections, and much more. Tyree's business focuses on petroleum site investigations; tank, pump and related equipment maintenance services; emergency response and remedial programs; and site design and construction.

Richard Oswald, the president and COO of Tyree, said, "Tyree's expertise includes construction planning through site development, full petroleum-related maintenance services and site remediationin other words, handling the site issues that Tanknology uncovers. There is virtually no overlap in our services, which will greatly expand the value we each bring to our customers."

Allen Porter, president and CEO of Tanknology, added, "When our testing uncovers an issue that requires attention, we have an extremely well-respected partner that can immediately go to work solving it for our customers. Conversely, Tyree's clients will benefit from integrated compliance testing and inspection programs, as an expanded option of their existing Tyree relationship."

With combined annual revenue of more than $100 million, Tanknology and Tyree are two of the largest companies in the UST services and testing marketplace.

Farmingdale, N.Y.-based Tyree has six regional offices in the northeastern United States and one in Southern California.

Based in Austin, Texas, Tanknology has regional offices covering all areas of the United States, in addition to international licensees throughout the world, providing UST environmental compliance testing and related services at more than 39,000 sites per year, for more than 3,000 customers.
