Tenn. Group Names New Executive Director

TFCA promotes LeRoy to top staff position

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Fuel & Convenience Store Association (TFCA) has announced that Emily LeRoy is its new executive director and leader of the organization's professional staff. As executive director, LeRoy will be in charge of day-to- day operations for the small-business advocacy group, which is dedicated to the needs of local fuel retailers, convenience stores and other related businesses in Tennessee.

"Emily has been a vital part of TFCA's success for more than a decade, and we have complete confidence in her leadership skills and vision for our future," [image-nocss] said incoming TFCA president Jonathan Edwards. "She has earned the respect of business owners and government leaders throughout the state of Tennessee with her dedication to the success of small businesses and her proven ability to accomplish the agenda of our organization."

LeRoy is a Nashville native who became an intern for then-Senator Al Gore Jr., in Washington. She served as legislative assistant to the late Representative Ed Jones and Rep. John Tanner before joining the FDIC Division of Liquidation in Atlanta. In 1996, she returned to Tennessee to join TFCA, which was then known as the Tennessee Oil Marketers Association (TOMA).

In recent years, LeRoy has served as associate director of TFCA under executive director Marylee Booth, who retired in December.

Founded in 1929, TFCA serves as the voice of the industry, reaching out to lawmakers, the media and the general public to advance the interests and ensure the viability of its more than 300 member companies.
