Terrible Herbst Teams Up With CenturyLink to Roll Back Gas Prices

Offers CenturyLink Prism Labor Day Weekend Gas Giveaway at five stations

LAS VEGAS -- Terrible Herbst has partnered with U.S. telecommunications company CenturyLink Inc. to offer unleaded gasoline at select locations to consumers at 2010 pricing. The "CenturyLink Prism Labor Day Weekend Gas Giveaway" took place Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at five stations to commemorate the first anniversary of CenturyLink's launch of its Prism TV product in Las Vegas, as well as give Labor Day weekend travelers a break at the pump.

Terrible Herbst and CenturyLink rolled back prices on unleaded gasoline to match last year's September average for Nevada, $2.83 per gallon (AAA Fuel Gauge Report), for up to 20 gallons of gasoline per vehicle. With current prices around $3.60 per gallon for unleaded in Las Vegas, customers were expected to save approximately 77 cents per gallon.

"We're excited to commemorate the one-year milestone of CenturyLink Prism TV with this program," said Jeff Oberschelp, vice president and general manager of CenturyLink in Nevada. "CenturyLink is proud to partner with Terrible Herbst, a CenturyLink customer."

Monroe, La.-based CenturyLink has made a significant investment in the local economy over the past 18 months, it said, with major capital investments to improve its local network. It provides broadband, voice and wireless services to consumers and businesses across the country and advanced entertainment services under the CenturyLink Prism TV and DIRECTV brands. In addition, the company provides data, voice and managed services to business, government and wholesale customers in local, national and select international markets through its fiber optic network and multiple data centers. It also is a leader in the network services market and is a global leader in cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions for enterprises through Savvis, a CenturyLink company.

Terrible Herbst was founded in 1959 and consists of 37 car washes, 21 lube locations and more than 100 convenience store/gas stations in the Las Vegas area.
