Two New Travel Centers

TA reopens in Southington, Conn.; Pilot opens in Winnemucca, Nev.

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC (TA) has announced the reopening of its Southington, Conn., location after a major renovation project. Southington is situated on I-84 (Exit 28). Meanwhile, Pilot Travel Centers LLC has opened a travel center in Winnemucca, Nev., off of Interstate 80 at exit 173.

Highlights of TA's Southington renovation include remodeling of the Country Pride restaurant and the addition of a quick-serve food court. The Country Pride reopened with new table tops, flooring, and more. The restaurant seats 140 patrons. TA operates 127 full-service restaurants [image-nocss] across the U.S. and Canada including 86 Country Pride locations.

The new food court added highly-popular quick-serve concepts Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, serving New Orleans Cajun style chicken, and a Taco Bell/Pizza Hit Express combination. The new food court adds another 89 seats for on-premise dining patrons. TA operates nearly 230 quick-serve restaurants across the U.S. and Canada. This restaurant renovation and food court addition continues to position TA as offering the most comprehensive and diverse food offer on the interstate for motorists, tour buses and RVers.

Exterior features were also remodeled. A new car island and canopy was added. Southington now offers three islands with 12 fueling positions serving TA gasoline.

TA, headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, is a major national chain of travel centers in 41 states and Canada under the TravelCenters of America and Petro brands. With convenient locations on interstate exits, TA offers its customers diesel and gasoline fueling services, full and quick-service restaurants, heavy truck maintenance services, 24-hour convenience stores, electronic communication (WiFi) and other services, all within large, high traffic facilities.

Separately, Knoxville, Tenn.-based Pilot opened the Winnemucca location on Monday, reported eTrucker.com. The new, 10,860-square-foot facility features six fuel islands and seven diesel islands as well as a restaurant and other convenience items.

The travel center includes a Subway restaurant; Western Union, an ATM, fax and copier services, lottery and lotto games, laundry services, an expanded grill area with Oscar Mayer hot dogs and a deli. The travel center will also include a 2,800-square-foot casino that will open within a few weeks, said the report.

In addition to diesel fuel, professional drivers will have access to such services as a CAT scale and five showers. The travel center will also include two RV lanes and two RV dump stations.

"We believe our familiar Pilot sign will be a welcome sight for interstate travelers and professional drivers. They 'll want to pull off to fill up, refresh and sample some of our featured food items," said David Juan, general manager for the Winnemucca location. "Our drink bar features a variety of flavor splashes, iced coffees, frozen drinks, brewed tea, milkshakes and a wide selection of Pilot 's best-anywhere gourmet coffees."
