The ability for Olson Oil to select only those PriceAdvantage components that they need to support their fuel pricing strategy made the product affordable and scalable, said Dave Vande Kamp, Olson Oil's Controller.

The company also selected the PriceAdvantage software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to leverage the benefits of a cloud service model including the low upfront cost, ease of implementation and the maintenance and infrastructure cost benefits.

"Dave is using the mobile component so that he can price fuel from anywhere, anytime. This provides him a distinct competitive advantage," said Chip Stadjuhar, president and CEO of Skyline Products.

"The fact that I can price fuel from my phone is huge. I'm no longer tied to my desk, and I have more time to focus on my other responsibilities," Vande Kamp added.

PriceAdvantage's highly configurable solution allows fuel marketers to execute their fuel pricing strategy faster and more accurately by reducing manual processes and human errors. PriceAdvantage enables customers to make rapid, informed fuel pricing decisions based on their own business rules, then automatically post new prices to their point-of-sale (POS) systems, fuel pumps and price signs and then receive price change confirmation. PriceAdvantage is a privately held U.S. company focused on fuel pricing software. Its parent company, Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Skyline Products, produces software solutions and gas-price and transportation signs.

Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Olson Oil had its beginnings in 1954 as a gas station with cigarettes, candy, pop, beer, bread and ice cream on the side. The company converted to full convenience stores in 1974. The company has grown to 19 c-stores.
