Goose Creek Selects PriceAdvantage Software

17-store Delmarva chain implements fuel-pricing solution

SALISBURY, Md. -- Goose Creek Food Stores has selected PriceAdvantage to support and execute its fuel pricing strategy at 17 convenience stores on the Delmarva Peninsula, which includes southern Delaware and the Eastern Shores of Maryland and Virginia.

Goose Creek sought a solution that would give headquarters full control over their fuel pricing strategy and reduce manual processes, delays and errors. With PriceAdvantage, they can gather and analyze competitive fuel-pricing data, gain immediate access to real-time volumes and margins, establish site-specific business rules to help automate price changes and create performance reports and analytics.

PriceAdvantage will provide Goose Creek with the fuel-pricing control it wants along with the ability to respond immediately to the volatile fuel market, even from a mobile device.

"The days of using spreadsheets to manage a retail fuel business are coming to an end, and Goose Creek management recognizes that," said Chip Stadjuhar, president and CEO of Skyline Products. "To be competitive, fuel marketers need instant access to real-time data in order to assess volumes, margins, competitor pricing and replacement costs."

Integrating with Goose Creek's multiple point-of-sale (POS) systems has proven easy, the company said, as PriceAdvantage offers pre-built, verified integrations with Gilbarco Passport and VeriFone Sapphire systems. Also, Goose Creek opted to purchase the PriceAdvantage hosted solution that reduced the implementation time and lowered hardware and software costs.

"The system is working extremely well," said Greg Stutzman, vice president of retail for Goose Creek.

A division of Skyline Products Inc., Colorado Springs, Colo.-based PriceAdvantage offers an end-to-end fuel price change execution software solution. The software automates the entire fuel pricing process from collecting competitive information, to performing analysis for best price determination, to executing rapid speed-to-the-street price changes with price change confirmation feedback. Customers include CST Brands, BJs, Rutter's, Flyers Energy, Parker's and more.

The Goose Creek chain is owned and operated by Cato Gas & Oil Inc., Salisbury, Md. Cato is one of the region's leading providers of heating oil, propane and fuel systems. Goose Creek is the largest Delmarva-based convenience store chain, with stores co-branded with major fast food brands Arby's, Popeye's and Subway.
