Comprised of PDQ Manufacturing, OPW Fuel Management Systems

CINCINNATI -- OPW, a Dover Co., has formed a new business unit called OPW Electronic Systems. The new business unit is comprised of OPW Fuel Management Systems and PDQ Manufacturing Inc. Effective immediately, this move is part of a broader Dover initiative to enhance customer value across its portfolio by leveraging synergies between its many operating companies.

Phil Carlin will lead OPW Electronic Systems as vice president and general manager and assume responsibility for the PDQ business. In addition, Gerry Hanrahan has been appointed as director of sales over the combined group known as OPW Electronic Systems.

"Gerry is uniquely qualified to lead the Electronic Systems sales team," said Carlin. "He was extremely effective in leading the OPW-FMS sales and marketing effort for many years prior to joining PDQ. He has done an extraordinary job leading PDQ's sales efforts and, he knows the distributors and customers for both businesses better than anyone else in the industry."

Hanrahan joined OPW's Fueling Component's Canadian unit in 1999 before relocating to Hodgkins, IL, in 2002 where he led the company's OPW Fuel Management Systems' sale and marketing teams. In 2010 he joined PDQ as vice president of sales.

OPW and PDQ are now positioned to provide enhanced sales coverage, expanded technical support and training capabilities, and to better service to customers and channel partners worldwide, the company said. In addition, they expect the cross-functional collaboration and business synergies to enrich growth and organizational success.

OPW is a global leader in fully integrated fluid handling, management, monitoring and control solutions for the safe and efficient handling of critical petroleum-derived fluids from the refinery to the commercial and retail points of consumption, including loading systems, rail and transport tank truck equipment; tank gauging equipment and automated fuel management systems; valves and fittings, underground and above ground storage tank equipment; spill containers, overfill prevention devices, secondary containment sumps and flexible piping; fuel dispensing products, including swivels, breakaways, industrial and automatic dispensing nozzles for vapor recovery, gasoline, diesel and alternative fuels; and clean-energy fueling nozzles and accessories for LPG, hydrogen and CNG.
