Tanknology Adds Nesbit to Executive Team

Industry vet taking over for Schnabel, who is becoming EVP of business development

AUSTIN, Texas -- Tanknology Inc. has announced that petroleum industry veteran John Nesbit has joined its executive team as vice president of sales and marketing. Nesbit is immediately transitioning into this role, held since 1997 by Richard Schnabel, who is becoming the company’s executive vice president of business development.

Nesbit brings to Tanknology more than 25 years of petroleum industry experience in key sales, marketing and product management roles with industry leaders such as Red Jacket, Veeder-Root, OPW Fueling Systems, FuelQuest, MyTankInfo and, most recently, ANS Distributing.

At Tanknology, Nesbit will manage the sales team and direct national sales and marketing efforts.

Allen Porter, Tanknology’s president and CEO, said the addition of Nesbit to the executive team is an exciting development for both the company and its customers.

“John is renowned in our industry for his integrity, his knowledge and his customer-centered focus,” Porter said. “The depth of his experience in petroleum equipment, services and compliance makes him a very exciting addition to our team.”

Porter said that Nesbit will be working closely with Schnabel, who is shifting his focus to working with both existing key accounts and development of new strategic accounts.

“Richard has been responsible for much of our success since joining the company nearly 20 years ago,” Porter said. “And I can assure everyone that he’s not going anywhere. Richard’s desire at this stage of his life and career is to focus on what he loves most--the relationships with customers and prospects that have been his associates, customers and friends throughout his long career in our industry. He and John have very complimentary skill sets and experience, and tremendous mutual respect. I can’t think of two better partners to help our customers with their evolving compliance needs as we take the company forward.”

Based in Austin, Texas, Tanknology operates across America and around the world, providing environmental compliance testing and inspection services at more than 50,000 gas stations, petroleum fueling and storage facilities per year, offering more than 20 compliance-related service offerings. Internationally, Tanknology licensees span more than 30 countries, providing services to the largest petroleum operators in the world.
