Wayne Acquiring Vianet Fuel Solutions

Aligns with strategy to develop fuel management capabilities

AUSTIN, Texas -- Wayne Fueling Systems, a global provider of fuel dispensing, payment, automation and control technologies for retail and commercial fuel stations, has announced that it has reached an agreement with Vianet Group plc, a provider of real-time monitoring systems, data management services and actionable data for the leisure and vending sectors, to acquire its fuel management subsidiary.

Wayne Vianet Fuel Solutions

The UK-based Vianet Fuel Solutions Ltd. (VFS) includes two main product lines as part of the Wayne acquisition: Fuel Management Solutions (FMS) and Construction & Forecourt Services (CFS). FMS is comprised of real-time wet-stock management, asset management and compliance monitoring services. CFS aligns with Wayne’s current UK services business, although provides additional services including forecourt construction electrical compliance services and tank lining.

“The decision to acquire Vianet Fuel Solutions is a natural fit for the Wayne business as it helps further our goal to offer fuel management capabilities to our customers,” said Neil Thomas, Wayne CEO.

“Over the past two years, VFS has made significant commercial progress and has established a strong reputation in the UK forecourt sector. This transaction recognizes the value which has been created,” said James Dickson, chairman of Vianet. “There is a great fit with Wayne, who will take VFS to the next stage of development and growth in a competitive landscape increasingly dominated by major global players.”

The companies anticipate that the closure of the acquisition will occur in first-quarter 2016.

Vianet provides real-time monitoring systems, data management solutions, actionable data insights and associated services for the leisure and vending sectors.

Austin, Texas-based Wayne is one of the world’s largest suppliers of fuel dispensers, payment terminals, forecourt control devices, point-of-sale (POS) and other measurement and control solutions to the retail and commercial fueling industry. A global network of distributors and service partners sells and supports Wayne products in more than 140 countries around the world. It has major design and assembly operations in the United States, Sweden, Brazil and China.
