Forty-five percent of c-store consumers report purchasing breakfast at a convenience store at least once per month, according to Technomic’s Q4 2017 Convenience Store Consumer MarketBrief. Compare that to lunch at 52% and dinner at 34%, and it’s evident the morning meal continues its rise toward daypart dominance.

Some notable demographic trends also exist. Sixty-five percent of 35- to 44-year-old c-store consumers report purchasing breakfast at least once per month; 60% of 18- to 24-year-olds said the same. The age demographic that’s least likely to purchase c-store breakfast is the 55-and-older crowd at 22%.
