"Aloha Petroleum has some of the most generous customers around, which is demonstrated by their continued giving to deserving nonprofit organizations through our in-store canister collection program," said Gary Altman, general manager of company-operated stores for Aloha Petroleum. "We're so pleased we could match the funds raised to support the important role that Aloha Harvest plays in providing quality food to the thousands of residents in our community who face hunger each day."

Aloha Harvest is a non-profit organization that rescues donated food and delivers it "free of charge" to social service agencies feeding the hungry in Hawaii. Since its founding 14 years ago, Aloha Harvest has rescued and distributed more than 13.1 million pounds of food donated by more than 875 participating restaurants, caterers, government facilities, hotels, food distributors, businesses and others.

Aloha Petroleum has used its collection canister program to support dozens of non-profit organizations including the March of Dimes, American Heart Association and the American Red Cross.

Honolulu-based Aloha Petroleum is the largest independent gasoline marketer and one of the largest convenience store operators in the state of Hawaii, with a history in Hawaii that dates back to the early 1900s. Aloha employs more than 500 Hawaii residents and markets through almost 100 Shell, Aloha, and Mahalo-branded gas stations and 44 Aloha Island Mart convenience stores throughout the state.
