Circle K Midwest & Great Lakes Raise $1.2 Million for CMN Hospitals

Three-week campaign benefits 28 children's hospitals across 14 states

SALTLAKE CITY -- Midwest and Great Lakes Circle K convenience store employees and customers showed their dedication to their community's kids by raising a total of $1,237,500 for Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals, a charity that raises funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals. This year's campaign increased 14% over last year's total of $1,084,100.

Participating Circle K c-stores collected donations by selling Miracle Balloon icons for $1, or larger balloons for a $3, $5 or $10 donation. The three-week campaign took place April 5 to 26 in 1,123 locations and will benefit 28 children's hospitals.

"Our goal each year is to set a new record; to have the largest possible positive impact on and contribution to the children's hospitals in our communities, said Mark Novak, director of human resources and training for Circle K. "Our success is really driven by the tireless effort and dedication of our store managers and their teams to actively engage and build relationships with our customers. It's an intense three weeks with a single and simple goal: raise more than we ever have before. So far, it's worked each year, and we're proud of that."

Circle K has been a partner of CMN Hospitals since 2000, raising more than $7 million for children's hospitals. Like all CMN Hospitals fundraisers, the funds raised from Circle K's three-week campaign will help create miracles by funding medical care, research and education that saves and improves the lives of millions of children treated at CMN Hospitals each year.

CMN Hospitals, Salt Lake City, raises funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals across the United States and Canada, which, in turn, use the money where it's needed the most. When a donation is given it stays in the community, helping local kids. Since 1983, it has raised more than $4.7 billion, most of it $1 at a time. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of our mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

Circle K Midwest and Great Lakes Divisions are both part of the Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. network of stores and operate more than 1,000 convenience stores in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, West Virginia, Vermont and Massachusetts.

Laval, Quebec-based Couche-Tard's network currently includes almost 6,200 c-stores throughout North America, including approximately 4,500 stores with fuel. It has agreements for the supply of motor fuel to more than 350 sites operated by independent operators. Its North American network consists of 13 business units, including nine in the United States covering 40 states and the District of Columbia (under the Circle K banner) and four in Canada covering all 10 provinces (under the Couche-Tard and Mac's banners).
