Latest fund raiser brings total collected for charity to over $21 million

SALT LAKE CITY -- Corner Store convenience-store associates asked customers to “put their money where the miracles are” this year by purchasing a $1 or $5 Miracle Balloon at the register, surpassing $21 million in total funds raised for the charity.

Corner Store raised more than $1.85 million during its 30-day fundraising campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a charity that raises funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals in North America. Donations went to directly benefit 33 member hospitals in the communities where Corner Stores operate.

Corner Store employees invited customers to purchase $1 or $5 Miracle Balloon icons or donate their spare change.

Like all Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraisers, the $1.85 million raised from Corner Store’s month-long campaign will help fund life-saving equipment, research, therapy and charitable care to help save and improve the lives of the 10 million kids treated at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year.

“Our member hospitals provide world-class medical care to children who need it most,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. “Corner Store associates and customers helped make miracles happen for sick and injured children through their faithful dedication and hard work.”

Corner Store has been a partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1995, raising funds for children’s hospitals through multiple campaigns totaling more than $21 million in the past 19 years.
