Spinx Partners With BMW Charity Pro-Am, Honor Flight

Bringing concert series, celebs, golf to Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Spinx has partnered with the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corp. to bring two public concerts to downtown Greenville, S.C., May 19 and 20.

On May 19, The Spinx Concert Series presents "An Evening at the Hotel California" with Don Felder, formerly of The Eagles. Felder (pictured) was the lead guitarist of the five-member rock group for 27 years. Credited with adding a rock-and-roll edge to their country sound, he wrote the music for their biggest hit, the multi-Grammy award winning song "Hotel California."

On May 20, The Celebrity Concert [image-nocss] will feature performances by celebrities participating in the 2011 BMW Charity Pro-Am. The celebrities scheduled to perform will be released in May.

The Spinx Concert Series will be held at the Peace Center Amphitheatre in downtown Greenville.

Spinx has partnered with Honor Flight Upstate SC to sell the tickets. Honor Flight Upstate SC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring our World War II veterans. The organization raises funds for an Honor Flight program that flies World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to view the World War II Memorial built in their honor.

Tickets for The Spinx Concert Series are $20 per show and have limited availability. All proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit Honor Flight Upstate SC and its mission.

Greenville, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee County sheriff's offices representing Honor Flight Upstate SC will be selling the Spinx Concert Series tickets at Spinx No. 128 on April 28.

"The BMW Charity Pro-Am is a great tradition in this area, and we're proud to be participating with The Spinx Concert Series while having the opportunity to help send World War II veterans to visit a memorial dedicated in their honor," said Stewart Spinks, CEO of The Spinx Co.

In addition to Felder, 21 celebrities are participating in the tournament including Lucas Black, Brad Brownell, Mark Bryan, Andy Buckley, Jeffrey Donovan, Bruce Greenwood, Oliver Hudson, Josh Kelley, Greg Kinnear, Cheech Marin, Rob Morrow, Terry O'Quinn, Michael Pena, Joe Pesci, Jerry Rice, Joe Don Rooney, Kevin Sorbo, Danny Sullivan, Gary Valentine, Patrick Warburton and Luke Wilson.

The 2011 BMW Charity Pro-Am will be played May 19 to 22 at Bright's Creek Golf Club, The Carolina Country Club and Thornblade Club golf courses. Tickets start at $25 for a four-day pass and are available through the tournament's 26 charitable beneficiaries.

The first 10 tournaments have raised nearly $8 million for more than 150 charities.

The BMW Charity Pro-Am is the only tournament on the PGA TOUR's Nationwide Tour where amateurs and celebrities are grouped with nationwide tour professionals in a four-day better-ball competition over three courses. Amateurs, celebrities and pros rotate between three courses on three days, with the 14 lowest scoring pro-amateur/pro-celebrity teams advancing to play the final round at Thornblade Club. Celebrities play once at each course. The professional winner of the overall 72-hole event will take home $108,000 from the total purse of $600,000. Amateurs and celebrities will compete for individual prizes and cash donations to the charity of their choice out of the beneficiaries selected by South Carolina Charities Inc.
