Wrigley Offers 'Double Salute'
Augments Kangaroo Express campaign with photo contest
CARY, N.C. -- Wrigley has joined The Pantry's Kangaroo Express convenience store chain, for the retailer's fourth annual Salute Our Troops fundraising campaign. Both companies are inviting customers to demonstrate support for military personnel and their families by enlisting donations in a Kangaroo Express c-stores from June 25 to Sept. 2.
Wrigley will salute those that give back by hosting a "Double Salute" social media photo contest awarding one winner with the grand prize of an all-expense paid trip to a race in Bristol, Tenn., on Aug. 23 and meet-and-greet with driver Kyle Bush.
In addition to the patriotic photo contest, Wrigley will further show its support for Kangaroo Express' summer-long Salute Our Troops initiative by donating 10 cents for every 15-stick pack of Wrigley gum sold at any Kangaroo Express c-store throughout July and August.
The companies invite fans to submit their most patriotic photos to the "Double Salute" social media contest tab located on Kangaroo Express' Facebook page. The photo that receives the most votes wins the grand prize package, which includes $500 spending money, round-trip air transportation, three nights lodging accommodation, two tickets and hospitality passes to the race along with a meet-and-greet with Kyle Bush.
The Double Salute contest winner will also have the honor of watching the race with American military hero Marine Master Sergeant Blaine Scott.
Donations from the campaign will support American Red Cross Service to Armed Forces, providing emergency communications, comfort and assistance to military, veterans and their families; Fisher House Foundation, donating "comfort homes" at major military and VA medical centers that enable military families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization; the U.S. Veterans Corps, a corps of military veterans, spouses, dependents and patriotic citizens performing hands-on community service with a mission and deployment attitude, as well as six state-based military support organizations--the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of Tennessee Auxiliary Soldier Airman Relief Fund, Florida National Guard Foundation, Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Soldiers and Airmen Assistance Fund of North Carolina, South Carolina Military Family Care Association and the USO of North Carolina.
