Anutter Rutter's Opens

New location will add gas

YORK, Pa. -- They're separated by only one-tenth of a mile, but the old and new Rutter's Farm Stores in Fawn Grove, Pa., are light years apart when it comes to aesthetics and amenities, the retailer said.

Rutter's is scheduled to open a 4,600-sq.-ft. store there this morning. The store will feature 10 fueling positions that will dispense gasoline, diesel and kerosene under a canopy. Inside, the store will offer Rutter's proprietary Famous Express Deli and Famous Express Grill, an upscale self-serve coffee bar and seating.

Joan [image-nocss] Cranford will be the store manager, and Cindy Burton will be the deli manager. The store, which will have approximately 25 employees, and it will replace a much smaller Rutter's nearby that has no gasoline pumps and only four parking spaces.

We're thrilled to bring a modern store to the growing Fawn Grove community, which Rutter's has called home since 1977, said Scott Hartman, president of Rutter's Farm Stores. Our valued customers have been asking for these improvements. We're confident that this will be an easy, enjoyable transition for them.

The new location mirrors stores that Rutter's opened last year in York and in Waynesboro, Franklin County. Family-owned and third generation-managed, York-based Rutter's Farm Stores operates 50 convenience stores in York, Adams, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
